Yonge4All is a diverse group of residents who live, work and shop in midtown Toronto.
We believe that Yonge Street should be welcoming, safe and accessible for people of all ages and abilities, whether they walk, take transit, drive a car, ride a bike or use another mobility device.
What is a Complete Street?
A complete street takes into account the needs of all users, from a parent pushing a stroller to transit user to driver. Its design also considers patios, street furniture, trees and stormwater management.
The goal is to ensure safe, accessible streets for people of all ages and abilities, give people a range of transportation options, create vibrant public spaces and healthy neighbourhoods and improve environmental sustainability.
Complete streets are safer for those who live by them and travel on them. They are designed to provide a higher quality of life for residents, local businesses and visitors, support a better balance between motorized travel and other possible uses of the urban space, and make the city more resilient to the effects of climate change.

Community News
We worked with the community to ensure the Midtown Yonge Complete Street Pilot, which runs from Bloor to Davisville, became a permanent part of our city.
Since the Complete Street Pilot was installed in 2021, this area of Yonge Street has become much more than a thoroughfare – it’s a destination! More people are walking, biking and visiting the area, bringing with it a vibrancy that is good for the local businesses.
Today Midtown Yonge is not only bustling, it is safer. And it is helping Toronto to meet its climate targets. We believe we need more of complete streets, like the one on Yonge in Midtown, right across the city.
We look forward to working with other communities who are working towards implementing complete streets in their neighbourhoods.
About Yonge4All
It was a nail-biter at times, but in the end City Council voted 22-4 in favour of making the Midtown Yonge Complete Street permanent.
Thank you to all of our members who helped with this win by volunteering, signing the petition and sending emails to the Mayor and councillors.
